Anna Matthews Memorial
The Revd Anna Matthews, a trustee of the Lady Peel Trust, was one of the most gifted priests of her generation. She inspired countless people to a deeper practice of the Christian faith. She was ordained to be assistant curate at St Lawrence, Abbots Langley, and then served as Minor Canon and Precentor at St Albans Abbey, and as Diocesan Director of Ordinands for the Diocese of Ely, and vicar of St Bene’t’s, Cambridge. Her thoughtful, prayerful, catholic vision of the Church of England exemplified much that the Trust and its supporters have striven for down the decades. She died in 2023 at the age of forty-four.
In Anna’s memory, and at the suggestion of her husband, Stephen Matthews, the Lady Peel Trust is receiving donations to create a fund that will be used to support the witness and ministry of the Church of England, with a focus on vocations.
Donations can be made at this page. If you are a UK tax-payer, please consider using the Gift Aid provision.
